Did you know public archaeology was a thing? We certainly didn’t, not until we sat down for a chat with Chapman Creative Industries Professor Jamie Larkin and his fellow alumnus and friend, Paul Burtenshaw of Sustainable Preservation Initiative. Neither of these accomplished men began their education with a clear idea of where they would end up. Their journeys each evolved as they put one foot in front of the other, at times it took them on detours, but ultimately a sense of curiosity about the world eventually led them to the fields of public archaeology and cultural heritage, and as a bonus they gained a friendship along the way.
